After the magic of winter, spring has now arrived at the Büchersegler bookshop in Graz. With the same attention to detail that made her Christmas nativity scene so special, Michaela Vogl has created an enchanting Easter diorama that now enlivens the shop window.
At the center is a hard-working bunny artist who is painting tiny Easter eggs behind his flower-wreathed market stall with a patterned canopy. In front of him, Molly the felted mouse is lovingly holding a small baby bunny in her arms. Wooden chickens and a small cart line the path. On the other side, two funny moles marvel at the colorful offerings. The larger one is particularly striking, proudly wearing a flat straw hat and a scarf. The scene comes to life in a beautiful meadow of flowers against a painted spring sky.
For Michaela Vogl, the design at Büchersegler has long been a matter close to her heart. In the bookshop run by Bea Baumann (winner of the Austrian Book Trade Award 2019), the delicate figures find the ideal setting – a place where stories come to life not only in books, but also in the windows.
Anyone looking for something special on a spring walk through Graz should stop by the Büchersegler. The Easter diorama is a loving greeting to the city and a small piece of handmade happiness in the midst of everyday life.
